Description:
At the University of Toronto Mississauga, we are using technology to make student support faster, clearer and more effective. This session will highlight three digital solutions, all built and run on the ServiceNow platform, that are transforming how students interact with campus services.
The Special Consideration Request (SCR) application centralizes academic accommodation requests, removing confusion and significantly speeding up processing. Students can track their requests easily, and staff can manage approvals efficiently, creating a smoother experience for everyone.
The UPASS application streamlines the distribution of transit passes each term. By automating workflows and providing real-time updates, it ensures students receive their passes reliably while reducing administrative workload and errors.
The Student Group Funding application system empowers student groups to access campus funding for initiatives and events. By digitizing submissions, approvals and tracking, the platform makes the process transparent, equitable and efficient, supporting a vibrant campus community.
These initiatives show how thoughtful digital tools can enhance student support while improving operational efficiency. Attendees will explore practical strategies for designing and implementing student-centered applications on platforms like ServiceNow. By sharing lessons learned at UTM, this session offers insights that can be applied to other campuses and institutions, helping universities create experiences that are clear, fast and empowering for students.
