Build your second brain: Atomic note-taking with Obsidian and AI

Primary speaker:

Jordan Holmes, Senior Manager, Teaching, Learning & Technology, Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation

Description:

We live in an era of information overload — and AI is accelerating it. But having more information isn't the same as thinking better. This session introduces a practical approach to personal knowledge management: atomic note-taking using Obsidian, with AI as a thinking partner along the way.

Drawing on the Zettelkasten method and the "Building a Second Brain" framework, you'll learn how to capture ideas in small, linked, reusable notes that compound over time and how to use AI to develop, connect and retrieve what you know. Whether you're a researcher, educator or staff member, this session will change how you think about the notes you take every day.

No coding required. No prior Obsidian experience needed.
