At 12:11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, a transformer failure at the Toronto Hydro Electric System Cecil Street Transformer Station plunged most of the St. George Campus into darkness until 3:40 a.m. (just under 3.5 hours). The ITS Administrative Data Centre that hosts the ITS Private Cloud was unperturbed. How was this possible? Planning, design and vigilance!
